Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Extends Catholic Charities Hurricane Sandy Disaster Response Program
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation has awarded a grant of $199,743 to Catholic Charities Disaster Response Program to support the continuation of case management services and resiliency training for victims of Hurricane Sandy. The grant period goes through November 14, 2016.
Catholic Charities Disaster Response Program has assisted 18,480 individuals and provided $16,632,852 in direct financial assistance to Hurricane Sandy survivors. According to Disaster Response Program Director Maria Nikolatos, “There continues to be a significant number of homeowners with unresolved issues, so support is needed to continue recovery efforts and continue our school-based/community resiliency trainings. Presently, the top three needs of Sandy survivors are: to rebuild, affordable temporary housing and advocacy to cut the red tape.”
