Catholic Charities, Diocese of Trenton is pleased to announce that its Disaster Response Program is offering additional services to those impacted by Hurricane Sandy. A generous grant of almost $600,000 from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation supports the launch of these new initiatives. The grant will also assist in continuing the comprehensive Disaster Case Management services that have been offered over the last two years.

REBUILD“This grant is critical to those who have suffered so much as a result of this disaster. We look to rebuild more than houses. We will also build strong homes, hearts and minds through this initiative,” said Maria Nikolatos, Director, Disaster Response Program.

REBUILD (Resilient Experience Building Under Involved Leadership & Direction) will help educate homeowners who are just beginning or still in the process of rebuilding, to help them better navigate their own project. This series of workshops will help breakdown the construction process into more manageable steps, allowing homeowners to better understand the process from start to finish. The workshop’s goal is to build greater confidence and resiliency through education, while empowering homeowners to move into a project management role for their own construction projects.
