Catholic Charities Undertakes Strategic Reorganization
As part of an initiative to competitively position itself for anticipated changes in the social and behavioral health services funding environment, Catholic Charities announced a reorganization of key management staff. According to Executive Director Marlene Laó-Collins, “We have strategically reconfigured our management team in order to maximize our ability to continue providing the highest quality services in a changing environment.”
Harry Postel was named Director of Strategic Partnerships and Innovation. Prior to this appointment, Postel served as the agency’s Director of Operations and for more than a decade before that, headed the agency’s behavioral health services division.
Susan Loughery, Director of Human Resources, was named Director of Operations. Both Loughery and Postel worked jointly to ensure a smooth transition in the agency’s realignment of Information Management, Technology, Compliance and Quality Improvement under Operations. As Director of Operations, Loughery is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the systems and service areas, providing leadership for executing strategic initiatives.
Elizabeth (Liz) Luciano was appointed to serve as Director of Information Management, overseeing technology in addition to billing and the Access Help and Information department. This change will streamline the integration of information management and technology.
Marci Fisher, Director of Business Operations for behavioral health services will also oversee revenue cycle management and will report to Susan Loughery, working under the direction of Dr. Adriana Torres-O’Connor, Behavioral Health Services Director as the agency prepares for the fee for service conversion.
To continue the Human Resources efforts to support the agency’s strategic initiatives, Paulette Brownlee, formerly Employee Relations Manager has been appointed interim Human Resources Director and recruiter Geeta Bhanot was appointed Associate Director of Human Resources.
“I am confident that the integration of the departments will strengthen our ability to leverage the collective talent of the management team, enhance efficiencies and collaborations and position us for success in our changing world,” said Laó-Collins.
