One of the programs at Catholic Charities I am proudest of is For My Baby and Me. Working with several partners in the community, we provide substance use treatment to pregnant women and new mothers. Since 2017, we have served 162 women, welcomed 164 babies (two sets of twins!) and provided these families with a fresh start.

Women have come to us with nothing but the clothes they had on – homeless and struggling with addiction. Some had nowhere else to go – cast out by their families. We offer women in the For My Baby and Me program medication-assisted treatment, health care, a place to live and meals. More important, they find emotional support, understanding and the peace of mind you feel when you are not facing something alone.

For My Baby and Me was designed to deliver long-term stability for the families. Wraparound services for the mothers include individual and group counseling to support recovery, help finding employment, childcare and assistance finding a permanent place to live. Many of these new moms have returned to school to further their education. All of them leave with bright prospects and a plan for their future.

For My Baby and Me is an act of solidarity with pregnant women and new mothers who suffer from addiction. Your gift will help ensure these new mothers have healthy babies and a chance to build a better life.
