Afghan Refugees Humanitarian Crisis

As you may have heard from various news sources, Afghan refugees were housed at Fort McCoy in Wisconsin, Fort Bliss in Texas, Fort Lee in Virginia and Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in New Jersey. The Joint Base played a critical role in this humanitarian crisis by meeting the basic needs of temporary housing, food, medical care and resettlement assistance. Catholic Charities, Diocese of Trenton assisted in this humanitarian effort by identifying and mobilizing legal representation for immigration assistance, helping with the coordination of wellness activities for the children and their families and assisting with coordination of donations and volunteers.
