About Catholic Charities
Renewing lives and restoring hope for more than 110 years
Essential Services: A lifeline for many
Catholic Charities, Diocese Trenton provides essential services to more than 100,000 New Jersey residents every year. Services include meeting basic needs with food, clothing and shelter, as well as specialized treatments for addiction and mental illness, and domestic violence programs to help end violence in homes. We offer programs in Burlington, Mercer, Monmouth and Ocean counties so that help is convenient and available to those who need it most.
Our programs are designed to help people and families achieve self-sufficiency and end the cycle of dependence. We strive to improve individuals’ lives and to strengthen communities.
Our proud history of helping others
Since 1913, Catholic Charities, Diocese of Trenton, has been helping local residents in need. We were there during the Great Depression, both World Wars, several recessions, housing busts, and more natural disasters than we can count. These events compelled people to seek help and also inspired many to respond to those in need. For over 110 years, Catholic Charities has been the trusted resource for emergency and crisis needs as well as longer term, more complex needs arising from mental illness, addiction, domestic violence and childhood trauma.
Making the most out of your support
We provide measurable outcomes for our services and are just as transparent when it comes to distributing donations.
To maximize the efficacy of every grant award and private donation, Catholic Charities maintains a high standard: Over 90 cents of every dollar donated goes directly to programs, with the remaining 10 percent covering the cost of doing business.
Despite funding challenges and the rising need for our services, we keep administrative costs to a minimum and are careful stewards. Donors know that we are a solid investment. This is what has kept us thriving as a charity and why we expect to be here for the next 110 years and beyond.
