Disaster Response Program Update
After more than four years of assisting those affected by Hurricane Sandy the funding for Catholic Charities’ Disaster Response Program has come to an end, effective December 1, 2016.
A few highlights of the services provided to those affected by Hurricane Sandy include:
- Provided disaster case management services to just under 5,000 households representing 21,326 individuals
- Successfully advocated for more than $20 million dollars in direct financial assistance to these individuals for unmet needs and financial gaps
- Successfully closed 84.6 percent of cases with Recovery Plan Needs Met, surpassing the national average of approximately 50%.
We gratefully acknowledge our many community partners, with special thanks to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation for their vital support. We extend our gratitude to our clients for their trust in us and for the opportunity to work with them. We wish you all continued success in all your future endeavors.
