Catholic Charities Names New Behavioral Services Director
Catholic Charities, Diocese of Trenton announced the appointment of Adriana Torres-O’Connor, Psy.D, MBA, as Director for Behavioral Health Services. Behavioral Health comprises the largest service area within Catholic Charities, employing a staff of more than 200 who provide recovery and wellness programs throughout Burlington and Mercer counties.
“I am thrilled to be joining Catholic Charities. As a premiere provider of behavioral health and addictions services, Catholic Charities provides high quality and compassionate care to consumers and families and I’m looking forward to integrating my knowledge and experiences with this dynamic team of professionals,” said Dr. Torres-O’Connor.
“Dr. Torres-O’Connor was chosen to lead Behavioral Health Services through the imminent transition to a fee-for-service system of care based on her impressive experience and credentials,” said executive director, Marlene Laó-Collins. “Her clinical knowledge and experience in the Pennsylvania transition from cost-reimbursement to fee-for-service are a great match for what Catholic Charities needs in order to meet the needs of our clients as well as the funding challenges ahead.”
Dr. Torres-O’Connor will report to Harry Postel, MSW, LSW, Associate Executive Director of Operations, and now former Service Area Director for Behavioral Health Services. This will ensure a smooth transition for Dr. Torres-O’Connor into her new role.
A resident of Westmont, New Jersey, Dr. Torres-O’Connor previously worked for Crossroads in Burlington County and House of Hope Community Development Corporation in Metuchen.
